Gelders Archief vanaf 2013

Dit is het nieuwe gebouw van het Gelders Archief dat vanaf medio 2013 in gebruik genomen zal worden. Het ziet er nu nog uit als een betonnen skelet van vijf verdiepingen hoog. Maar wanneer het buitenwerk klaar zal zijn is het een gebouw dat een opzichtige champagne-gele kleur van buiten zal tonen. Het kantorenblok aan de voorzijde biedt een fraai uitzicht op de Nederrijn, de jachthaven en de Sacharov- of Pleijbrug. De ruimten achter het kantorenblok zijn goed voor een opslag van ongeveer 45 papieren kilometers. Daarnaast is er nog voldoende ruimte voor de opslag van audio-visuele bestanden en de digitale opslag van een breed scala van instellingen. Wanneer het nieuwe onderkomen van het Gelders Archief in gebruik genomen wordt zal het huidige gebouw aan de Markt 1 na ruim 45 jaar worden verlaten. De Stichting Gelders Erfgoed, thans nog in de binnenstad van Zutphen gesitueerd, zal in 2013 eveneens in dit nieuwe gebouw worden ondergebracht.
